 The city is Alexandria and the time is the 4th century. This Movie name is Agora. In the city there are Christians, Jews and atheists, and among the atheists there is a girl who is very curious about the universe, philosophical minded and wanted to understand the working process of the universe and the orbiting planets.

How the earth revolves around the sun, what is the shape of the earth, and would convey his teachings to many students through his library. It suddenly happens that this girl's religious fellow people have a little conflict with the people of another religion and the issue escalates, things get worse due to which the entire library of this girl is destroyed. After that, this religion starts conflict with other religion and then with the followers of their own religion. On one side this story is going on and on the other side the girl continues her work and tries to understand whether the earth is round or not. Personally, she does not accept the idea that the earth is round and continues to understand it.

While one of her students becomes a bishop and another becomes a prefect of Alexandria and she gets a lot of support. Meanwhile, a man fills the religious leader's ears with the girl's beliefs and tells him how the bishop and the prefect are supporting the girl. The girl continues her hard work and finally comes to the conclusion that the earth is not round or flat but elliptical. When the girl goes to the bishop and the prefect to tell this, instead of listening to her, they start persuading her to join the religion, an argument ensues and the girl walks home alone. On the way he is captured by religious extremists and tortured to death and all his written work is destroyed and the religious leader involved in all this becomes the ruler of Alexandria. 

What the girl discovers in the 4th century only through her intelligence is proved by Johannes Ceppler 14th century later. The girl's name is Hypatia and this movie is based on true events and worth watching.
