While searching on Netflix, I observe the poster of a movie and when i see the name of Pankaj Tripathi in the cast, i download it because it was a movie of a big actor like Tripathi, and watched it in one sitting. The movie is based on true events and the movie's name is Gurgaon.

The movie Gurgaon had just started when I saw Anurag Kashyap's name in the starting credits and was sure that the movie would definitely be great. Gurgaon is the story of a man who has struggled and seen a lot of poverty throughout his life. The main character gives birth to a daughter, and he buries her alive and starts raising his two sons, but things do not improve. A pandit from Gurgaon tells Tripathi that your situation will improve only when a daughter comes to your house and so Tripathi adopts a girl.

Now when Tripathi adopts girl, his situation improves and one day he becomes the owner of entire Gurgaon and Tripathi loves his daughter the most, sends her to study abroad and sons does not matter for him because thet were not capable. Due to his father's love with daughter, the elder becomes jealous of his sister. One day his elder son bets 2 crores on a cricket match and loses. For not paying the money, he starts receiving threats and along with his younger brother and a friend, he kidnaps his sister. After that he demands a ransom of 2 crores from his own father. The story goes on and Tripathi learns the true identity of his sons and his elder son first kills his uncle, then his father, then his sister and then his younger brother. Becomes the owner of all the property in Gurgaon and one day his mother shoots him dead leaving, no one alive except the single mother.

The suspense in the film Gurgaon is very light but what was special about Gurgaon was Pankaj Tripathi's acting and more than that, the color grading and background music of Gurgaon created such depth in Gurgaon that every viewer of Gurgaon feels himself surrounded by fear and suspense. Gurgaon is a good movie to watch once but cannot be watched again and again.
